Our story
Grain Design Flooring started in hardwood, and wood is still the backbone of what we do. Owner Jason Strunk built the company around a simple idea — that a floor is a big, long-lived decision, and it should be an easy, confident one. Over the years we've grown from a wood-only shop into a full-service showroom and installer, carrying carpet, tile, luxury vinyl and laminate alongside the hardwood we're known for.
Co-founders Matthew Placke and Alex Hamilton help hold the standard: your experience comes down to the skill of the crew on site. That's why every installer on our team is NWFA-certified and trains every year — and why we treat your home like our own from the first measurement to the last board.
Our work earned the 2025 NWFA Wood Floor of the Year — Members' Choice, a nod to the custom, geometric work we love most, and owner Jason Strunk was named to Hardwood Floors Magazine's 40 Under 40.
